Mass Intentions

What is a Mass Intention?

A Mass intention is a prayer offered at a specific Mass for a particular person or purpose. Families often request Masses for a loved one who has died, for the healing of someone who is ill, in thanksgiving for a blessing received, or to mark a birthday or anniversary. Each Mass is offered for one intention, which may be for an individual, a married couple, or a family. When you request an intention, it is announced at the Mass and the priest offers that Mass for your special intention.

How It Works

1

Two booking periods each year. Intentions are scheduled in six-month blocks: January through June, and July through December.

2

When booking opens. Booking for January through June opens in early November of the prior year. Booking for July through December opens in early May.

3

One intention per Mass. Each Mass is offered for a single intention, such as one person, a married couple, or a family.

4

Up to four Masses per family. Each family may request up to four Mass intentions per six-month period.

5

Suggested offering: $10 per Mass. You may make your offering securely online when you submit your request.

6

Prefer to book in person? Mass intentions may still be booked at the parish office.
